I prefer Walkers pure butter shortbread. At one time I liked Lorna Doones.
But that was years ago. There are too many nasty tasting ingredients and artificial flavors in this cookie. I understand that you want to make the cookie last a few months but if it were good people wouldn't let them last. FYI...butter is better than any form of margerine, taste and health wise.
Unbleached flour would taste better than white if you can't go for the wheat. Leave soybean oil out of it. Use a healthier oil with butter. You really don't need to put all that stuff in your cookie.
I make an old fashion carrot cake and it can last 3 weeks after opening. It can last 4 months without opening. And I just have sugar, baking soda, and other spices as my preservatives. I use quality ingredients.
Think about taste and health. You might be able to get folks to start buying your product again.
